a word on essential oilsSimply stated, essential oils are highly volatile complex substances which are comprised from generally hundreds of natural chemical components. They are responsible for the fragrance of the plant as well as it’s immunity and for the attracting or repelling activities as they relate to insects. Depending on the plant species, the cells where the essential oils are stored may be found in leaves, flowers, roots, bark, fruit peel or seed. They are considered by many to be the life force or the “soul” of the plant and have been used therapeutically for centuries.

Today, perhaps more than ever, is an appropriate time for us to look at more natural pharmacological offerings for the health benefits they offer for the human body and spirit in our quest for obtaining and maintaining good health.
